Before signing a 'vacation contract', talk to your children and grandchildren

To lure people into buying "vacation cards," scammers often use tactics like giving free gifts and vouchers but claiming they "only apply today" to pressure customers into signing contracts or making immediate on-the-spot payments of huge sums of money. In reality, despite spending hundreds of millions to several billion VND, many people are still unable to book rooms for their vacations when needed.

Bkav cybersecurity experts warn: Pressure to make an immediate decision is a sign that consumers need to be particularly cautious of potential scams, especially with high-value contracts. Therefore:

  • Do not rush to sign a vacation contract because of promotions that are "only for today" or "almost sold out."

  • Do not sign immediately, do not transfer money immediately.

  • Talk to your children and grandchildren and take at least 24 hours to verify information before making a decision. Because a safe transaction can always wait another 24 hours for the customer to think it over.
