Parents beware of the 'Health Insurance card integration' trap for children
01:41:00 | 07-10-2026

Scammers impersonate insurance officers, notifying that children's Health Insurance cards have errors, are unsynced, unintegrated, or about to expire, requesting parents to add them on Zalo and make video calls for instructions to scan QR codes, perform actions on VNeID and VssID, access links, or install applications under the pretext of "authenticating" and "integrating" Health Insurance information.

In this way, they steal money, data, hijack account privileges, and install malware onto victims' devices.

Bkav Cybersecurity experts recommend:

• Do not provide personal information, bank account information, or OTP codes to unidentified callers

• Do not access links, scan QR codes, or install applications of unknown origin • Do not transfer money according to instructions over the phone

• Upon receiving calls related to children's Health Insurance, remain calm and proactively verify information with schools, insurance agencies, or competent authorities through official channels.

• If you have already provided information or transferred money, quickly contact the bank for support, while preserving phone numbers, messages, links, QR codes, and transaction information to provide to the police.

• Install antivirus software and comprehensive anti-malware solutions, as the built-in software bundled with operating systems is only designed to meet customers' basic protection needs and is not capable of countering modern ransomware and viruses designed for long-term persistence and deep system infiltration.
