Impersonating bank employees, bad guys call or send messages via SMS, Zalo, Messenger, tricking victims into opening a non-physical debit card or applying for a credit card, then asking victims to provide card images, numbers on the card, cardholder name, card number displayed on the VCB Digibank application, OTP code, CCCD, biometric images, banking application password... They even entice people to transfer money with the excuse of "increasing credit score to issue a card" or request payment of "application fees, card issuance fees".

Using the trick of impersonating the police, the scammer creates scenarios accusing the victim of breaking the law, then threatens, manipulates the victim's psychology and demands money to clear the case or prove his innocence.

Posing as electricity industry employees, bad guys call their targets, demanding payment for electricity bills or tricking them into downloading fake applications to take control of personal accounts and steal money from victims.

Experts and authorities recommend that people absolutely do not provide personal information, phone numbers, residential addresses or any sensitive data to unknown or unverified individuals. In particular, do not transfer money into accounts for strangers, in any form.

People should limit the disclosure of personal information on social networks, e-commerce platforms or when shopping at stores. At the same time, be wary of requests from strangers to click on links, install applications of unknown origin, log into bank accounts or provide personal information. Such actions can cause users to have their information leaked and become targets of scammers.
