Vice President of Bkav is elected as Vice President of Vietnam Information Security Association

On September 7th, Vietnam Information Security Association (VNISA) organizes a National Delegation Congress for the 3rd term, 2019-2024, officially elects the Executive Committee. Bkav's Vice President of Cyber ​​Security, Mr. Ngo Tuan Anh, is elected as Vice President of Vietnam Association of Information Security. VNISA’s President is the Deputy Minister of Vietnam Information and Communications, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hung.

Minister of Vietnam Information and Communications, Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung, says that the 3rd term of Vietnam Information Security Association is associated with the acceleration of transforming and developing digital economy and building E-government.  The coming tasks must relate to these objectives, promoting its positive role in the protection of Vietnam in cyberspace.

According to the summary report for the 2nd term (2012 - 2019), the number of members participating in the Association has increased by 90%, from 72 to 138 members.

In the last term, in addition to member quantity’s growth, VNISA established 3 other professional organizations, including VNISA Information Security Specialist Team, Vietnam Certificate Authority and Digital Transaction Club – VCDC, and Vietnam Cyber Security Assessment and Audit Club (VSAC).

The 3rd term’s Executive Committee is elected with 26 members. In particular, Mr. Ngo Tuan Anh, the current Chairman of Vietnam Certificate Authority and Digital Transaction Club – VCDC, is elected as Vice President of VNISA.

During this term, VNISA has joined with Vietnam Ministry of Information and Communications and other ministries to develop policies and legal documents which are related to information security. In which the most outstandings are the Law on Information Security and Decrees regulating electronic transactions and digital signatures, strengthening cyber security to improve Vietnam's ranking index.

VNISA determines this period is to aim at promoting the implementation of E-government, smart cities and digital transformation; the role of ensuring security is very important. This is not only an opportunity but also a challenge for the Association.

VNISA also pays attention to participate in the development process, making Vietnam be the region's Information Security center, elevating and expanding international cooperation.

Accordingly, VNISA will stimulates activities to attract organizations, businesses and experts specializing in information security nationwide, especially large enterprises in order to develop associations; participates in consulting on information technology and information security policies; and promotes the role of a bridge between businesses, organizations, experts and state management agencies on information security.

VNISA, officially established in 2007, is the first non-profit organization operating in information security recognized by the Vietnamese state.
