Bkav Corporation is pleased to announce its latest cyber security contest: WhiteHat Grand Prix – Global challenge 2015 (CTF contests).
Cyber Security has always been a hot topic worldwide. Countries, governmental agencies, individuals and organizations have become the targets of hackers, cyber-crimes, cyber-terrorism and even cyber-war. In recent years, there have been an increasingly number of cyber-attacks at critical level. There are some noticeable incidents including: Pentagon email system was hacked in Aug 2015, the computer system of the Bundestag was attacked in May 2015, Sony Pictures was targeted by hackers in Nov 2014, and the most memorable one is the large-scale DDoS attack targeting at least 26 governmental websites of the US and North Korea in 2009. Lacking cyber security experts is considered part of the reason leading to the rapid increasing number of the attacks. In this context, Bkav Corporation organizes WhiteHat Grand Prix – Global challenge 2015 with the aim to strengthen the exchange of experience and serve as a supplement to the force of cyber security experts, help improving the current condition.
WhiteHat Grand Prix – Global challenge 2015's theme is named "Hello, Vietnam!". This is the chance for participants to compete, show off their technics and abilities.
The challenge consists of 2 rounds, The Qualification Round and The Final Round. Registration is opened to individuals, groups, organizations from any countries and territories.
The Qualification Round shall be a 24-hour online contest starting from 09:00 on 24 October 2015 (UTC+7) at WhiteHatVN.com. Format: CTF – Jeopardy Online with questions covering Web Exploit, Reverse, Pwnable, Forensics and Crypto.
The Final Round shall be an 8-hour onsite contest starting from 09:00 on 12 December 2015 (UTC+7) at Hanoi, Vietnam. Format: Attack/Defense. Only top-ten teams from the Qualification Round are selected.
Prizes for winners of WhiteHat Grand Prix – Global challenge 2015 includes:
