Warning: Beware of Scams Exploiting the “100,000 VND National Day Gift”

Immediately after the Government announced a 100,000 VND gift for every citizen on the occasion of Vietnam’s National Day (September 2), scammers began targeting people through Zalo, Facebook, text messages, and phone calls—urging them to install fake or unverified applications under the pretense of “assistance in receiving the money.” Many unsuspecting individuals, eager to get the funds quickly, downloaded these apps, clicked on malicious links, and followed the fake “instructions,” only to lose money.

According to Bkav experts, accessing fake websites or downloading impersonated apps exposes users to the risk of losing control over their devices and having personal data or bank account information stolen. Citizens are urged to remain alert and exercise caution.

The Government’s support policy will be implemented publicly and transparently through local People’s Committees, relevant authorities, and will never require citizens to provide passwords or OTP codes. Therefore, users must never share passwords, OTP codes, click on suspicious links, or download apps from unverified sources to avoid falling victim to fraud.

There are two official methods of gift distribution: bank transfer and cash. To receive the funds, citizens must have a Level-2 VNeID digital identity account, a registered bank account, and link it to their Social Security benefit account on VNeID.
