Students across the country are entering the 2026 summer vacation, and many scammers are taking advantage of parents’ demand for recreational activities and skills-training programs for their children to commit fraud and steal money.
The fraudsters often create fake fan pages, websites, or social media groups promoting programs such as Police Semester, Military Summer Camp, experiential clubs, talent classes, summer courses, life skills programs, summer retreats, swimming courses, and similar activities. They use AI-generated images and videos depicting officers, training facilities, or extracurricular activities to build credibility. They then aggressively promote advertisements claiming limited enrollment, discounted tuition fees, or requiring parents to “pay a reservation fee” immediately.
After parents transfer money, the scammers may cut off communication, delete their accounts, or continue demanding additional payments for uniforms, insurance, registration documents, transportation, and other fees. In some cases, they also collect personal information belonging to parents and children for use in other fraudulent activities.
Bkav cybersecurity experts advise parents to:
- Register only through official organizers with clear addresses, contact information, and legal status.
- Verify information through the official channels of the relevant agencies or organizations before registering.
- Do not transfer deposits or tuition fees until all information has been thoroughly verified.
- Be cautious of unusually low-priced programs, urgent payment requests, or offers that seem too attractive to be true.
- Do not provide children’s personal information or identification documents to unverified accounts.
- If suspicious signs are detected, preserve all evidence and immediately report the matter to the nearest police authority.
Please share this information to help parents remain vigilant, protect their assets, and ensure the safety of children during the summer holiday period.
